Soprano Hayley Westenra is raising funds for the Royal British Legion's 90th Poppy Appeal with an album dedicated to the cause.

The 23-year-old classical performer's We Will Remember Them collection includes poignant readings from the poetry and news reports of the First World War, through to texts written by service personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"Joanna Lumley, Dame Vera Lynn, Stephen Fry, myself, we're all doing readings on that album," Hayley told Sky's Eamonn Holmes.

She is set to be singing at the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday at The Royal Albert Hall, which will be an emotional night for the young singer.

"It's a really special day as well. It's a day to celebrate the brave and those heroes that fought for our freedom," she says.

"There are mixed feelings throughout the day. It's a very poignant day indeed."

The album is available now and £1 from each sale will be donated to the charity, which supports those who have served in the Armed Forces.
