Hayley Westenra to attend National Christchurch Memorial Service on 18th March

News of the World reports today that Hayley will attend in New Zealand the National Christchurch Memorial Service which is to take place on 18th March at North Hagley Park, Christchurch. Hayley's homebound

Hayley Westenra is dashing home to Christchurch in New Zealand following last month's earthquake. The world's top-selling soprano will be in my home country on Friday to sing at a memorial service there, and is also organising Quake Aid, a fundraising concert in August.

Hayley has mentioned this in an LBC radio interview, so it is now effectively confirmed.

16 March Update

Hayley is now in New Zealand and will be singing the NZ National Anthem at the Memorial Service. She is also expected to be interviewed on NZ Breakfast TV shortly after 8 am, and may be on Close-Up on that evening, with other media appearances also possible. The memorial service is due to start at 11 am in North Hagley Park, Christchurch - full details can be found here on the Canterbury Earthquake website.
